Who We Are
Earth Services. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The organization was originally founded in 1998 as Educated Animal Rescue, E.A.R. We  grew to become E.A.R.T.H., Educated Animal Rescue and Teen Haven Then finally Earth Services. Located in Lower Michigan, amongst the trees and rolling farmland of the rural Bellevue/Battle Creek area our facility reaches out to our community and beyond, helping youth and animals find their perfect fit in society.

Earth Services is under the direction of Michael Terpening, the founder of  Earth Services. He is assisted by many other qualified individuals that make the program possible.

Who We Help
Earth Services is dedicated to helping the youth who need a second chance to succeed in their community. Our facility is open to local youths as well as youths nationwide. We provide a stable living environment, personalized educational plans and transitional living skills for each individual.

Earth Services also houses animals that have been abused, neglected, or owner relinquished. Every animal is given a chance to find their forever home once nursed back to health. Earth Services provides the animals with proper care and nutrition to ensure their new life is off to a great start.

How We Help Youth

“Our Vision for the near future.”
Upon arrival to our facility an adolescent will be given the necessities to begin their transition. Every child will understand and conform to the standard rules of the facility.

Earth Services will work with each youth individually to set goals and an educational plan into place. Education for each child will be determined on individual needs. Some students will attend public schools, some will attend adult education and some will be home schooled.

At the start of the program, the youth will be learning how to hold a steady job, balance a checkbook, pay bills, and many other life skills that will be needed to enter a community as a responsible citizen.

How We Help Animals

Each child that enters the program will be matched with an animal in the rescue. They will learn to care for this animal through feeding, maintenance and obedience training, until the animal can be put up for adoption. The youth will then help match the animal to a family and aid in the adoption.

Earth Services provides shelter and care for all the animals in need. We have animals coming into the rescue from all over the state and even some of the other extending states.

The youth that take part in this program will learn how to care for the animals and will learn proper animal husbandry through everyday chores and routines with the animals. Both animals and the youth will learn to deal with attachment disorder.

Funding
Earth Services is funded through donations, state, government, and federal grants. Tuition for individuals is based on needs. The organization always accepts your donations and both the youth and animals benefit from your gracious gifts.

Please remember Earth Services does not house the majority of our animals in a central facility (only those waiting for fostering). Our animals are in foster homes across Michigan. Keeping the animals in a family environment helps them adjust to their forever homes more quickly.

If you are interested, please call us to set up an appointment.

We are not always at our desks or near a phone. Please leave a message and we will call you back with in one business day.
